It’s me, Tali Kogan, founder of Tali Kogan Style and MALKARI by Tali.
People see me today, with my celebrity clients, my style studio inside the exclusive 900 Shops on Michigan Avenue, my globally recognized jewelry brand Malkari, and my beautiful, happy family, and don’t realize this is far from where I started.
Twenty years ago, I was an accountant who only wore black head to toe, trapped in an abusive relationship, and used clothes as a way to hide from myself and the world.
I didn’t necessarily have an eye for fashion then—but I always loved it. And I got to where I am today through a lot of inner and outer healing that started simply with an outfit.
I started to experiment with color, wearing jewelry and paying attention on how I was showing up in the world. The most incredible thing started happening, doors started opening up and got my first real job despite barely speaking English at the time.
Changing how I dressed shifted how I saw myself and then rippled out into every aspect of my life: finding my soulmate, having my beautiful children and building the business of my dreams.
Today, I pour this wisdom into every Style Queen I work with, helping women transform their lives starting with an outfit. Through my styling work and my non-profit, Sweet Dome Chicago, which has helped 23 Ukrainian families settle in the Chicagoland area, I continue to honor my roots and share the belief that when you change how you show up, you can change your entire life.

After the pandemic, my family and I started our own garden, it’s my sanctuary and my favorite way to connect with nature
